Although its color is a faded pink, I enjoy the taste of the grapefruit mimosa at Griffintown Café. This is where we will go for brunch this Sunday.
How do you plan to treat your mom this Sunday? Start by telling me which cocktail (it doesn’t have to be those) that you or your mom will be delighted to drink?
I wish that I could give or receive the Orla Kiely for Wild & Wolf for Mother’s Day. I am particularly fond of the Orla Kiely Flask; it would be great for picnics.
The signature pattern plant pots are available in small (orange), medium (grey) and large (green). A hand trowel and a garden fork complete the collection.
+ Orla Kiely Flask £19.95
+ Orla Kiely Hand Trowel £19.95
+ Orla Kiely Plant Pot from £14.95 to £24.95
We simply celebrated my first Mother’s Day the day that my son reached 2 months old. My husband, our son and I had a late brunch with his grandmothers. It was the first time that we went out at a restaurant with our son. It went well and Zack enjoyed again his ride on the stroller.
My husband signed the card that goes with this beautiful orchid bouquet with his name and the name of our son. This was so sweet of him!
I wish to all mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day filled with joy and love. Mine was.
I talked about this concept executed with Umbra’s wallflower wall decor before, but this one is so cute that I must share it with you. It is a DIY project that you can do for your mom on Mother’s Day. You will need 56 flowers to write Mom like that; which means that you will need to buy 3 packages. Affix them to a frame that she can keep or use it as the background of a photo booth.
This look would pair with the flowering cherry blossom branches that Heather introduced yesterday.

I wish all my readers to are moms, including my super mom and my mother-in-law, a wonderful time for Mother’s Day!
I learned a lot of things from my mother, who was a businesswoman at a time when married women were stay at home mothers. She taught me to follow my passion in what I do, to embrace life and that it is better to have tried to do something and failed than to do nothing. But most importantly, that we should not considered it a failure if we learned something. It is fair to say that I inherited my entrepreneur spirit from her. I love you, mom!

The Escape Cocktails by the SAQ is a good source for cocktail recipes. I select these 6 cocktails, either because they look girlie or should taste great. Select the one that will fit the taste of your mother or will pair the best with your menu.
+ You can start the brunch with a Strawberry smoothie that includes . After all, we need something that has no alcohol to fill up energy and vitamins. It contains apple juice, pineapple juice, strawberries, a banana, rose syrup and honey.
+ Then, you can sip a Sparkling rose made with vodka, cranberry juice, sparkling wine and a dash of vanilla extract.
Cranberry and Vodka Based Drinks
+ The Skyy Rosé is a rich, fruity cocktail. Its smooth taste comes from Skyy vodka, litchi juice, cranberry juice, a splash of 35% cream and one strawberry as garnish.
+ Cape Cod is a milder drink that you prepare with vodka, cranberry juice and tonic water. Garnish with 2 lemon wedges.
Dry Gin Cocktail Recipes
+ The Mystery Martini refers to the old-fashioned herb liqueur since it is prepared with green Chartreuse. This is the stronger drink on my list. You will probably just serve no more than one per guest.
+ The Cucumber Collins adds style and a refreshing flavor to a classic drink. I like drinks with cucumbers. You start this drink by crushing cucumber slices with a muddler in a highball glass. For the rest, you prepare a classic Tom Collins and garnish with a cucumber spear.
Think about family portraits and little things that give her time for herself for this Mother’s Day. They might be the most original gift ideas but you are certain that it will please her. On those categories, I suggest:
+ Custom Personalized Family Silhouette Print that you will take the time to frame $22 USD by Nella Designs on etsy
+ Moroccan Mint Square-Glycerin and Goat’s Milk Soap $4 USD by KcSoapsNmore on etsy
+ Terry Bath Scrubber and Bath Mitt $15 USD and $9 at Pottery Barn
The first idea is inexpensive and clever. You dress up a kitty grass by adding one or two blooms in each pot. Switch the kitty grass into a container that fits your tabletop theme. Plan one arrangement per place setting.
You can also be creative in selecting the container towards your mom’s pastimes. Better Homes and Gardens had a few good ideas to propose. Here, orange-yellow ranunculus are gathered in a mortar. Or wrap a pair of garden gloves around the stems, and tie everything with twine. Then, add a gardening tool to dress it up.
Finally, the vintage medical bottles refer, in a cute way, to the caretaker role of mother. These lovely arrangements were designed by Rountree for the Spring brunch of Sunday Suppers.

Write down the Poached Egg with Shitake Mushrooms, Wilted Arugula and White Truffle Cream recipe if you host the Easter brunch or for Mother’s Day. It is totally sublime.
I discovered the exquisite talent of Viviane Bauquet Farre earlier today. She blogs at Food & Style. I tweeted yesterday morning about a lovely side dish she made: Roasted baby red potatoes with lemon and bay leaves. I went back last night. This is when I spotted her Poached Egg recipe. The presentation is awesome. Viviane used a cookie cutter to get this clean look.

Pure linen table linens are my favorite. Their simple elegance never go out of style. A set of napkins with a table linen makes a gift that will be appreciated for years to come. Think about it for a birthday, a housewarming party, a wedding or even as a Valentine’s Day gift.
For the napkins, you could opt for her Manner Napkins set which reminds everyone of 6 table manners. And there is a limited edition for Valentine with loving words. Those are made by Missy, a mother of five who sells on Etsy. She named her etsy shop after her the name of her fifth child, Betsy Grace. She also make matching tea towels.
+ Linen Table Runner Personalized With Your Initial $24 USD
+ Manners Napkins Set of 6 in Linen Willow Color $36 for 6
It became a tradition. Every year, the weekend before my birthday, my husband invites me to a night of delight at Cirque du Soleil. We had fabulous tickets to OVO, seats 1 and 2 on the first row right in the center of the scene. Being that close enables us to see every details of the making and costumes which are a huge part of Cirque du Soleil’s magic. We are also able to see how hard the artists work to deliver their performance.
The nearest seat to the scene are part of a package that is called Tapis Rouge. The event starts one hour before the show. You are welcome with a glass of sparkling wine (red and white wine is also available). This is an almost one-hour cocktail with food served by a top-notch caterer.
The lamb mini-burgers, mini grilled cheese or mussels with the sauce served in shooter are simple ideas that you can incorporate in your repertoire. Think of designing vignette to add a theatrical vibe to your party. Here a mushroom garden vignette served as a service station.
The food presentation is always original. I always bring back ideas. The beautiful flower-shaped appetizers are hard to do. They were delightful for the eyes and to the mouth. Several food were used to fashion delicate flower; delicate to see and to the taste. The center was a foie gras or another type of mousse; I cannot recall which one.
Food in a Tree
Trees were used to serve food. A green apple becomes the bowl of half-cooked duck confit mixed with vegetables. The carrot has a hint of ginger crossing in the middle with a nori ribbon. It is simple and really delicious.
For dessert, they hung on the tree pineapple pieces dipped on a praline at one side. This awesome dessert is easily to reproduce at home for your next BBQ. Cut the pineapple in a small rectangle (3 inches long and 1/4 to 3/8 inch wide), insert on a wooden stick and dipped with praline.
OVO is a superb show. I recommend it. I had a great night. Thank you my Love for this night of pleasures. On that note, I wish every mom the best for this Happy Mother’s Day!
