Style Me Pretty’s Board Contest: Having a Casual but Ultra Chic, Budget Friendly Birthday Party with Blythe

Ultra Chic, Budget Friendly Affair inspiration board created by Blythe

This post touches on the story of a beautiful love affair. It has joy and happiness written all over it.

I was thrilled to get my hands on a chic outdoor party theme for grownups. The fact that is easy to reproduce in a classical style garden makes the board even better. And there was orange, my favorite color; I could not resist.

The Casual but Ultra Chic, Budget Friendly Affair inspiration board created by Blythe displays many design elements I enjoyed.

The appetizers on stick garden are something to keep in mind. The L-shaped booth with the vibrant fabric shaded roof feel so festive that not much decorative elements are necessary.

About my alterations

Last week, I came across some wedding pictures taken by photographer Michèle M. Waite for Molly and Brandon’s wedding in Bellingham. The plating of the food served at the rehearsal dinner is a feast for the eyes. I had to show these pictures to you. Blythe’s inspiration board was the perfect occasion.

They served on the park homemade fingerling potato chips with rosemary lemonade. It is fascinating what a bunch of white paper bags and a nice woven basket can do. An old piece of wood and a burlap sheet fashion a beautiful backdrop for the canapés.

Molly is the editor of Orangette, a very popular food blog. In fact the story of Molly and Brandon is quite unique and charming. They met because a friend of Brandon started visiting Molly’s blog when she was looking for a Lemon Cake recipe. If you are curious about how their love story started, watch this Power of Food video on Food Network.

Come back tomorrow morning for the last board. Update September 5, 2007: After  a further review, the third board I selected did not bring something new to the discussions compared with this one. So this post concludes this series.
