I was curious and skeptical when I read the email from the PR agent of GlassDharma. It seems like a good idea but I did not know how practical their idea was. To judge by myself, I accepted their offer to send me a sample their Simple Elegance and their Beautiful Bend straws.
Both models are available in 2 lengths and 2 widths. The wider version is for milk shakes and smoothies. I tested both models with my morning grapefruit juice. I really enjoy their straws. I did not test the milk shake version yet but from looking at it, I feel it should work fine.
Notwithstanding the beneficial effect on the environment to not throw away the straw after each usage, these glass straws are more fun to sip with. An added bonus!
Cleaning Instructions
The straws are dishwasher-safe. The only drawback is that it may require a little work for you if you do not rinse the straw as soon as your finished using it. I then wash it in the dishwasher to sanitize it. If it is left to dry without rinsing, simply soak your straw in warm soapy water and then use the right size cleaning brush, sold separately and in kits. Other accessories include Hemp Soft Sleeves and Bamboo Hard Cases for protecting and carrying the straws to picnics.
Located in California, GlassDharma found so far a small number of retailers in the United States and Canada to carry their unique products. Each straw is hand-made in the United States.
