I love Scandinavian design. Years after years, the Swedish kitchenware company Sagaform does not cease to impress me. You cannot stop but to feel happy when you look at their bold patterns and creative forms.
I explored their 2009 catalogue to see what is new. I saw several products that I enjoy and would like to add to my own tableware collection. I am starting with those two.
Juicy Dessert Plates and Bowls
Lotta Odelius designed the first items of the Juicy collection in 2008. She added new items this year to her drinkware collection.
These hand-blown glass bowls are the coolest dessert bowls I have seen lately. You dig the pattern as you eat your ice cream or fruit salad. Bowls are sold in pairs of the same color. The side plates are sold as an assorted pack featuring the 4 colors.
I wish that Sagaform add colors to the existing cake plate on foot; it only exists is white.
Paperboat Stoneware and Glassware
Designing a party theme around Paperboat would be easy. The groundbreaking Swedish trio Form Us with Love imagined a maritime line that works as well for the inside and the outside.
The serving bowl paper boat hat design is childishly fun. But the collection is intended for adults since it includes a beer glass and a Schnapps set with a lighthouse carafe made of stoneware.
No words yet on the price, where and when it will be available in North America.
