Suggestions of where to go and eat in the Los Angeles

visiting Los Angeles : Santa Monica by hoveringdog on Flickr

I am going on a week-end gateway in Los Angeles with my husband Jerome. We are staying in Santa Monica. I visited LA once when I was 9 or 10 years old . I experienced the magic of Disneyland with my cousin and my parents.

We are open to suggestions about to do and see. So far our plans involve cruising on the famous streets of Beverly Hills, Malibu and Venice. Amongst other things I want to do some shopping and touring the Paul Getty Center.

Do you have any suggestions of places to eat, to go out at night and to shop? For my blog, I am looking for tableware, home décor and design stores. I am interested in stores that either have a unique retail concept or that are renowned for the products they carry.

What activities should I do? Any good restaurants to spot celebrities? Where to shop?

I don’t do much shopping in LA, I stick closer to home in Orange County so I can’t give you the best places to shop. You can find great prices on fabrics in LA. I have a friend that heads out to LA often and comes back with great fabrics that I use for my party tables.

As for food…you’ll find a ton of great places to eat. If you want a great California burger that is too messy, too full of fat and probably too bad for your health head over to Tommy’s. They have the yummiest chili burgers and chili cheese fries. My favorite is an order of chili cheese fries with onions and pepperchini’s (spelling?) and a large rootbeer.

You can’t go wrong visiting the Getty Center. There is also a ton more to do but of course I can’t think of anything at the moment. You’ll always be able to find something. LA is a great city!

    Hi!

Enjoy LA..I love it! Check out Kate Mantolini for a great meal…it’s where the famous scene between Pacino and DeNiro was filmed for the movie, Heat.

The newly renovated Griffith Observatory is also a great place to go for views.

I also like taking tea in the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena…a little drive north of LA, but the gardens, library, etc. are truly spectacular!

    Have fun!
