  1. 4/4 Dante Inc
    6851 St Dominique, Montreal

A dream shop for the foodies. It feels like a treat to visit the Quincaillerie Dante (the store is now 90% about cooking than anything else). A friend refers to it as the Ali Baba cavern for cooking in Montreal and she is right.

  2. 1/1 Toast Bakery Cafe Inc
    8221 W 3d, Los Angeles

Check out the review I did on January 2008 when I ate there with my husband. In short, I love it!http://blog.kimvallee.com/archive/2008/01/14/having-breakfast-with-a-paparazzi-at-toast.aspx

  3. 7/8 Blue Bottle Café
    66 Mint, San Francisco

Try the siphon coffee. It is the best coffee I ever tasted.

  4. 2/2 Tadich Grill
    240 California St, San Francisco

It is impressive that the oldest restaurant in San Francisco is still packed today. It dated from 1849, during the gold rush era. The decor has not been updated for many decades. People go for the food. I was hesitant when I saw the décor but I was happy when I got my plate. Plan to wait a little before getting your table since they do not take reservations.

  5. 1/1 Café du Nouveau Monde Inc (Le)
    84, Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, Montreal

I like the terrace and the large open window area where it feels good to eat. A great spot to eat when all the summer events (festivals) occur in front of the Complexe Desjardins

  6. 1/1 Fiona's Sweetshoppe
    214 Sutter Street, San Francisco

Like the old English style of this candy store. A place where to get higher quality candies that come from UK and Europe.

  7. 3/3 Cartet Inc Le
    106, Rue Mcgill, Montreal

I went for the Sunday brunch. Delicious! The modern decor of the restaurant is warm and hip. There is also a fine grocery section that includes a few cooking gadgets. So you can stock a few hostess gifts after you eat. I will go back.

  8. 2/2 Bear Foot Bistro
4121 Village Green Rr 4, Whistler

If you visit Whistler, set aside a budget for a dinner at the Bear Foot Bistro. It is a true indulgence that you should not forget.

  9. 1/1 Petits Gateaux Boutique Cupcakes
783, Avenue Du Mont-Royal Est, Montreal

A cute boutique with nicely decorated cupcakes. The cake taste is average.

  10. 1/1 Mandoo Bar
2 West 32nd Street, New York

A New Yorker brought us to Mandoo Bar. This is authentic Korean cooking. A cool place to eat lunch. Most dishes are under $10
