You cannot leave Vancouver without a visit to Stanley Park where you can admire the big trees, take a picture in front of the hollow tree, see the remarkable totem poles, and have a picnic on the park after a walk on one of the many park trails. The most famous trail amongst visitors ans residents is the 8.8 km (5.5 mi) Seawall trail. But if you prefer a quiet walk, head to the forest trails where you can get a glimpse of what this peninsula must have been like centuries ago. Trees that you can see include Douglas-fir, Western Red cedar, Western Hemlock, and Sitka Spruce.
