June 26, 2011 at 12:33A machine to make cake pops is not necessary. A great way (and most usual) is to combine cake bits and icing together into little balls. Quick, easy and fun. Tons of recipes and how-to tips are on the internet. No machine required! Plus, it sounds like it would be quite tedious and, like Sue Green said, messy business to fill the little indents with batter.

July 11, 2011 at 20:20C and Carly: Like with any kitchen gadgets, some people enjoy them while others find them useless. I like the concept behind the machine but I never used it. Therefore, I don’t know how it performs and if it is or not a waste of time or if it is easy to use.

August 14, 2011 at 19:30I love my Babycakes cake pop maker! You get much less wasted cake than trying to scoop out balls of premade cake…and if you put the batter into a plastic bag and cut off the tip, you can get the perfect amount with no mess at all. Definitely worth the 25 dollars.
