This is how the inside of a clear glass linen cabinet should look like. I adore all hues of sunny yellow. This is why I am sad that IKEA changed the color of the Hemnes linen chests. They selected a nice hue of red, but I would have liked it had they kept the beautiful yellow that they carried in 2008. They kept the same yellow stripes paper on the back.

If you are looking for a more neutral option, check the EDLAND if you live in the United States. Frankly, I cannot justify the Canadian price. I wonder if there is a mistake online in one of the sites.

    Oooooo… I totally understand why you prefer the yellow one ― such a burst of sunshine! But I’d be happy to settle for the red one… as the yellow-striped paper gives it a beautiful touch.

    I didn’t know they’d discontinued the yellow — WAAAAAH! I hadn’t got around to buying it yet 🙁

    Maybe they’ll bring it back. I prefer it over the other colours too! And yeah, that Canadian pricing is crazy.

    I have that yellow one! So glad we got it when we did…The yellow stripes inside the red one looks funny!

    I agree with you, the yellow one was my ultimate fave. And now, that I have a house, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Plus it would look neat in my nursery. Boo you Ikea. Bring back the brightness!!!

    I actually bought the yellow one, but the yellow was more of a stain than a paint, so with the knots in the wood, it ended up looking badly polka dotted. We ended up painting it white and adding light blue bead board for the backing. I love it now!

    I also didn’t know there was such a fantastic colour at IKEA but now I miss it!! Clearly I need to get to IKEA more often.

    Love the yellow cabinet, Ikea has introduced a new world of color we should all go for it. A while ago I used an old natural one and had it painted white, it is now being used in one of my client’s bathroom, I will post it on my blog.
