CedarWorks Indoor and Outdoor Playsets

Serendipity swing sets by cedarworks

Swing sets and play sets are a sure way to keep your kids and their friends playing for hours at home. The selection at CedarWorks is to die for. I would love to be a kid again. They have smaller sets but I’m showing you the awesome ones that you would get if money was no object.

The castle aesthetics of the Serendipity Series was the first to caught my attentions. Tons of components are available to stimulate imagination and keep your kids active all day. My favorite parts are the ladders, the rock walls, and the activity ladders. Accessories include a steering wheel, a bucket on a rope and a spyglass.

Indoor Play

But after careful review, I am more impressed by their indoor collection. Some items are available for indoor and outdoor usage.

The Rhapsody bed sets with their choice of loft beds or bunk beds would be super cool for sleep overs and play dates. The bunk bed in the above set acts as a day bed.

Before you splurge in a bunk bed with an activity center, see how your kids act at night around toys. Some kids may be too distracted by the toys to put that type of arrangement in their bedroom. On the other end, it may provide an extra bed in the playroom.

How Much it Costs?

No idea! I was only able to dig online that their sets are expensive. I can’t give you an idea because CedarWorks do not share their prices on their Web site or on their media information. CedarWorks expects that you call them to know how much it will cost. It feels so dépassé (outdated)!

  1. No posted prices…so dépassé (outdated)!,,,,,No this is a dishonest tool used in the industry so that Cedarworks can charge one customer one price and another customer another at their whim. The beds and sets are beautiful but this business practice will keep me from doing any business with this company and I will look for an honest provider of childrens products when I shop for my grandchildrens’ bedroom sets.

  2. I read that their prices start at $1950 and go up from there.

  3. Prices are printed in their catalog (Rhapsody, at least – I haven’t been shopping outdoor), so unless they’ve got different pricing structure by mail-to zip code or something I don’t think they’re trying to be dishonest. (and if you build a set online you can request that a quote be emailed to you) I think they just want to get a glossy catalog in your hands and your name to a sales rep – who from my *very* limited experience (trading emails with two) are not pushy at all.

  4. Sandra, I value your opinion. But I feel that it is not ecological to push people to get a printed catalog, if they do not want one. Most cataloguers have reduced dramatically their reliance on a print catalogue for the easy to update online catalog. Personally, I would be less inclined to shop there. Everyone can feel differently about this issue. Having said that, it does not change the fact that their playsets are gorgeous and that kids must love it. And this is why I featured them on my site.

  5. I just want to drop a line to say the reason they do not have printed prices is that each set is completely customizable. The shopper has several choices of structure (size and configuration), side panels, flooring, color and accessories.
I can see how it would be hard to publish that in a website (or print) format.

  6. I talked to them and it is not the reason. By the way, you can always show a price range or write start at …

  7. Do you mind sharing what they said the reason was? I have called their customer service before and found them very helpful… Thanks.

I realize this is old but decided to comment. I have actually purchased a cedar works play set and then a couple of years later added on to it. When my husband and I customized ours we received several quotes for different sets and all needed some tweaking from our original design due to safety. We also received a document via email with prices. One reason companies don’t publish prices on printed glossy catalogs is because they do change. I have two different documents from two different years that reflect changes in prices for various items. I never received the pitch “you have to buy now or the deal is gone”. They post their sales on the web and via email. I was fortunate on our add-on that they are so honest. They had an end of year sale and by the time I got my order emailed to them, they were gone on holiday. They still honored the sale price even though I made my order after business hours and by the time they got it it was in the next year.

By any chance, does anyone know where I can get a used Cedarworks outdoor swing or play set? I live in Michigan.
