Tastespotting has been shut down | News Flash

tastespotting fairwell

A few minutes ago, I went to Tastespotting. I wanted to submit my story about Hiring a Chef for a dinner party. I prepared my 250 pixels square picture hoping that I selected the right shot to impress the Tastespotting editor that will see my submission. Then, I saw that message.

I am sad today because Tastespotting was the site to discover food related blogs. NOTCOT still operates a few other sites under the same business model.

I do not want to get involved into the politics but I feel sad for the blogging community in general. We lost a great way to discover great food related stories.

It is so sad to know this most unwanted news. I feel disheartened whenever I see a nice going website ceases to operate all of a sudden.

Sadness spreads, this just reached me and I’m so sorry about this. One of my favorite sites is gone.

Yep, yesterday was a very sad day for the food blogging community. I loved Tastespotting, and I’ve discovered just how much time I spent on that website now that it’s gone!! Google Reader will be infinitely more important now until the next best thing comes along.
